Happy Holidays

This is the time of year where I always find myself with a little more of a smile on my face. Even though our economy may be doomed. Regardless that there is so much gloom in the air. This time of year I always try to help my fellow man out when I can. While I have never been deeply religious the essence of Christmas is not something that escapes me. I enjoy giving gifts especially to children to see their faces light up. I enjoy helping those who can’t always help themselves. I am still living as thrifty as I can but I put up lights on the house even though it raises my electric bill a little bit. Like many other Americans I cut back on my gift buying, but it’s not always the gifts that make the biggest impression this time of year. It’s the actions. Do something nice for someone you know.

  1. Couldn’t agree more, my friend. Even an old grouch like me can soften up when I see the smile on the faces of children. Kinda warms the heart! (Don’t tell anyone I said that, ok?)

I read a quote somewhere recently that said something like ” It sometimes isn’t your presents, but your presence that brings the greatest joy!”

You have a good one, my friend.

  2. thanks jim :) Thats a good quote. I’m afraid people do get to wrapped up in the giving of presents and should just enjoy the time with family more.
